Shinju (25 F) Japanese American, classically trained dancer, raised in Los Angeles, away from her family's Hawaii roots. Studying Butoh Dance, longing to reconnect with her Japanese culture. Determined, Methodical, Bi-Sexual, physically demanding role. Must have dance experience. Quiet intensity, capable of murder. HOTEL STREET, the new film from writer-director Kahunahana, merges psychological horror with historical truth, posing the question: Why does history repeat itself? When Shinju returns to Hawaiʻi to dance in commemoration of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, she uncovers her family's dark secret of why they left Hawaiʻi during WWII and is possessed by an ancestral spirit to exact revenge.
